Ireland or the Irish

Here is a question. Artemis FowlII is a Irish criminal mastermind right? His hair is black. Anyone that is really Irish has red hair . So why does Artemis have raven black hair? Do you find this valuable?

You obviously aren't as Irish as you seem or else you were feeling bored and decided to start a joke thread. I'm not a moderator but I'm fairly sure this would be counted as a waste of forum space. It's like asking why there are deserts in Africa if it's green on maps. In reply to your question, very few people in Ireland have red hair: I'm guessing about 1 in 100. Also Art is of Norman descent. Do you find this valuable?

Does is actually say anywhere he is of Norman descent? If so where ? who says? And it's not a waste of forum space thank you very much. Its a question. Dont act like there are a thousand threads already. Its a conversation.I don't have to live in Ireland to be Irish Thank you very much. As far as I know The books say he's an Irish criminal genius. does it really say norman descent. Geez. Do you find this valuable?

Book 1. Page 18."The first record of this unusual arrangement was when Virgil Butler had been contracted as servant, bodyguard and cook to Lord Hugo de Fóle for one of the first great Norman crusades." I only said it was a waste of forum space because you acted as if all pure Irish were red-headed which is a pretty annoying and offensive assumption for some Irish people. Unfortunately, I'm one of those. Do you find this valuable?

Unfortunately? I'm Irish and I have red hair. And I didn't say pure. It could have been during The Norman Crusades. Or they could have been allies with the normans. All those are possibilities and probabilities. Doesn't mean Lord Hugo de Fole was Norman now does it. And I didn't mean the hair thing to be an insult. It was a honest question. Ok. I admit I probably overeacted. Sorry man. Hugo is a french name. de Fóle is a french name. The old irish had very little to do with the crusades. And out of all my cousins (of whom we're descended from the old Irish MacCarthy's) I'm the only one gruaige dearg. Do you find this valuable?

It started out MacCarthy from about 1000+ years ago. But since then it has evolved (for most of us,anyway) to McCarthy. Check if anyone in your family knows about Cormac McCarthy or the McCarthy Stone. Veritas et Fidelitas est mea fortitvdo. Do you find this valuable?

Random comment. I'm of Irish descent. Funny story. My great-great-great-grandmother, who was born in Ireland, almost went on the Titanic, but ran off with a sailor and then later came to America. LOL
So who knows? There's a good chance I wouldn't exist if she had gone on the Titanic.

Yeah...kinda. I'm really into Titanic stuff though. I dunno why. It's fascinated me since I was little. And I only like to watch the part of the movie where the ship is sinking. Not the first half. Do you find this valuable?

I thought it would have been better with less romance and more... well, more "Titanic"y bits. Do you find this valuable?

But there was plenty of Titanic bits. The reason they put the romance in was for the audience to relate more and sort of bring ourselves into the movie. Like we had to feel what Rose and Jack were feeling when Jack made Rose go on the lifeboat.
But we're being off-topic. But the topic was a bit stupid so whatever.

I actually think Leo's best Irish performance was in "The Departed". Now that was a good Irish movie. Do you find this valuable?
