I hate her. HATE HER. Something about her just... makes me want to slap her. I was sooooooo glad that she wasn't in TTP.I like to think she died. Do you find this valuable?

Me being a pathetic little nerd (and loving it, so I guess thing could be worse) I started writing this total Mary-Sue fanfic after I read the first or second book. It was pretty much the Minerva half of TLC. It was a girl about Arty's age (me. Hey, it was my fantasy! :) ) who was beating Arty to the chase for a bunch of his crimes. He finds out who I am, we fight, then we bond over the whole kid genius thing, aaaaaaaaaaaaand you know, typical fantasy stuff. I read TLC and I was like "EOIN COLFER HACK MY COMPUTER AND STOLE MY IDEA!" (I didn't post it anywhere, it was just for me). AND he did a crap job of it. Minerva is supposed to be this genius, and she just comes across as whiny and annoying.

Yes, but when Arty was her age he was nothing like that. My sister is twelve and spoiled, but somehow manages to skip the "whiny and annoying" aspect. I was also spoiled when I was young and wasn't anything like Minerva. She acts like she's five half the time!

I don't think he needs a genius. Any girl with a high IQ is going to admire him, and that's not what he needs. He needs someone who deflates his ego. So far in the series, the only girls who really do that are Holly and Juliet.

Not necessarily, I just mean he needs a girl that can bring him down a peg every now and then. But I do think he'd be good with Juliet. Just better with Holly.
